First Baptist Church has also chosen to identify with the
Ohio Association of Regular Baptist Churches
called the OARBC.
The organization is a network of churches within the state of Ohio
that associate with the General Association of Regular Baptist
Churches. The Link is the official
publication of the OARBC which is a quarterly newsletter.
At First Baptist Church, we use the New King James (NKJV) translation of the
Bible. Commissioned in 1975 by Thomas Nelson Publishers, 130
respected Bible scholars, church leaders, and lay Christians worked
for seven years to create a completely new, modern translation of
Scripture, yet one that would retain the purity and stylistic
beauty of the original King James. With unyielding
faithfulness to the original Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic texts, the
translatiors apply the most recent research in archaelology,
linguistics, and textual studies.
The Baptist Bulletin is the official publication of the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches and is published by Regular Baptist Press. The Bulletin began as a 4-page magazine in January 1933 with the stated objective: "To maintain a testimony to the supernaturalism of Christianity as opposed to the antisupernaturalism of modernism." Today the magazine is a 32-page full-color publication that informs Association church leaders and members about events and ministries within the Association and about Regular Baptist heritage and doctrine, and communicates to the churches the vision of the GARBC.
