Music Ministries

At First Baptist we believe in the power of music to communicate praise to Godand the truth of His Word. It is our goal to provide a wide variety of opportunitiesto use Christ-honoring music effectively.

Choir

One of our primary music ministries at First Baptist Church is the choir. The choir performs a wide selection of music on Sunday mornings and participates in major events throughout the year. Members of this ministry have a great opportunity to magnify Christ and build relationships with others at First Baptist who love music. This ministry runs from September through June. Members with a love for music and a desire to minister with their musical abilities are encouraged to participate. The choir meets Sundays at 4:30 p.m. for regular rehearsal. Participants commit to attendance at practice and morning worship performances.

Orchestra

Orchestra provides another way to praise God through the use of instruments. The orchestra accompanies hymns during selected services and provides special music. If you play an instrument, be sure to contact the church for information.

Special Music

At First Baptist special music provides a variety of opportunities. Special music takes the form of ensembles, small vocal groups, soloists and instrumentalists. These special music opportunities are a regular part of our Sunday worship, Sunday evening services and special programs.

Drama

Drama is a powerful tool that can communicate many biblical truths. We have a drama ministry that is ongoing that plays a part in our worship services at regular scheduled times. Drama is always a part of our Christmas Musicale. We are interested in hearing from those who have dramatic experience or an interest in drama.

Children's Choir

If your child likes to sing, he/she will want to participate in one of our two our children's choir. There is a choir for age 4 through grade 2 and another choir for grade 3 through grade 6. They learn character qualities that apply to their daily living centered around a daily quiet time, weekly Bible story, weekly memory verse, coloring activities, and a song with drama performed once every 5 weeks in the evening worship services. They also are taught musical concepts that help them in their music education. They meet at 6:00 p.m on Sunday evenings September through May which is during our regular evening service time. They will make new friends and learn more about music, drama and daily living in a loving encouraging environment.

Seasonal Events

We enjoy celebrating several seasonal events during the year. Our largest musical productions are at Christmas and Easter. We have a wide variety of musical events and guest concerts. These programs serve as great opportunities for outreach into our community.
