In December 2002, shortly after the dedication of the new building the congregation made a three year commitment of $670,000 toward the church’s 2nd phase expansion.  The plan completes the 1st phase of the building project, addresses major maintenance needs, and expands the current facility.  Furnishings (chairs, tables, etc.), landscaping, and exterior lighting were needed to complete the building project.  Replacement of carpet, installation of a new gym floor, reworking of the heating system for the old building and the construction of a maintenance building are a few of the maintenance needs.  The construction of a youth room, a connector from the main buildings to the gymnasium, the completion of the auditorium balcony, and the construction of additional Sunday School classrooms are a few of the projects that expand the current facility.

            The 2nd phase expansion is making great progress.  A maple gym floor was installed in April 2003.  The gym floor meets the needs of both the church and school and is designed to reduce athletic injuries.  The purchase of furnishings for the new building has been completed and the chairs, tables, etc. are in use.  The new youth room was completed in August 2003 and is being used for the church’s ministry to teens.  Additional portions of the 2nd phase expansion are in the planning stage.
